This year is full of Cinderella hopefuls ready to bust your bracket. There are many strong contenders in this field who are fighting for their shot at a Final 4 run. We’ll break down the top 4 double digit teams who are most likely to make a deep run. 

Virginia Tech – #11 Seed

We’ll start with the Cinderella hopeful everyone is talking about first, the Virginia Tech Hokies. The Hokies earned an #11 seed telling us that if they didn’t win the ACC Championship, they would not be in this tournament. Virginia Tech was looking outside the bubble and went on an incredible run including an upset over Duke to win the ACC Tournament and earn their bid in this tournament. The Hokies are hoping to continue this hot streak all the way into March Madness.

Davidson – #10 Seed

The Wildcats are grateful for a favorable pairing against the Michigan State Spartans. Will we see the next Stephen Curry come out of this Cinderella hopeful? The Wildcats are one of the best offensive teams in this country and currently sport the 8th best 3 point shooting percentage in the tournament field. If they can sink the 3, they can make it far. 

South Dakota State – #13 Seed

The highest scoring team in the country is shooting their shots in this tournament and hoping to go deep. The Jackrabbits have consistently shot over 60% from the field throughout the season which tops over some powerhouse teams like Gonzaga and Purdue in this tournament. The Jackrabbits put up a fight against Alabama earlier this season in one of their 4 losses, but Providence is no Alabama and we think this sets up South Dakota State perfectly with their high-powered offense. Vermont – #13 Seed

Arkansas and Vermont are two teams at the top of their game right now, both ending their seasons on a strong note. The Catamounts haven’t lost since December and that speaks volumes about how good this team truly is for being a #13 seed. Vermont is just waiting to bust your bracket and can potentially go even farther than just the round of 32 if they can get hot from the field.
