The NFC West is one of the most loaded divisions in the entire NFL and it is very real a possibility that all 4 teams in this division make the playoffs. This season should be a good indicator of how the future for this division will shape. In this article, we’ll break down how this division is going to turn out this season.
Division Winner: Los Angeles Rams
The Rams finished last season falling to the Green Bay Packers in the NFC semi-final matchup. The Rams struggled in the game as Goff was out with an injury and they had to rely on backups to power through the game. The Rams traded for Matthew Stafford in the offseason which is a significant upgrade over Goff. Stafford brings veteran leadership to L.A. and will be a huge asset to the team looking to make a deep run. Stafford is the key to push them over the edge to winning this division and potentially winning the NFC.
2nd Place in Division: Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks won the division last year, but the Rams are going to give them a good run for their money this go around. The Seahawks have kept most of their roster intact and several players are looking to capitalize on a strong 2020 campaign. The Seahawks need to get their defensive woes and late game play calling together to have a chance at winning the division, but will settle for 2nd as they should grab a wild card spot in the playoffs.
3rd Place in Division: San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers were plagued by injuries last season that derailed any playoff hopes they had from the start. At some points, it felt like half the team was injured, they were without a starting quarterback, tight end, other offensive weapons, and many of their defensive studs. The 49ers look as close as healthy as they can be heading into 2021 and drafted Trey Lance in case Jimmy G goes down again or if he doesn’t play as much as they signed him for. The 49ers should be competing again in the NFC West and could grab another wild card spot.
Last Place in Division: Arizona Cardinals
If the Cardinals were any other division, we could see them competing for 1st in that division, but unfortunately for them, but enjoyable for our sake, they are in the NFC West. The Cardinals got better via draft and free agency with the acquisitions of James Conner, AJ Green, and JJ Watt. They also brought in another wide receiver through the draft in Rondale Moore. The Cardinals are going to be a very exciting team to watch this season and we are here for every second of it! The Cardinals are a couple more defensive additions from securing a wild card spot with ease, there is a chance they could sneak in, we’ll see how it plays out.
