Detroit at Buffalo Bills

The Detroit Lions and the Buffalo Bills on Thursday Night? What more can fans ask for in a weeknight game? This is going to be a classic thriller. Two of the best offenses in the NFL against one another, two potential MVP candidates, I’m looking forward to this one. The edge goes to Josh Allen who is looking to get his 2nd MVP award in 3 years.

Carolina Panthers at Atlanta Falcons

Watching Cooper Rush play football is a hard sight to see, it’s like he doesn’t want to succeed. The Falcons are still out Penix Jr and Tua, this game might be the loss they need to turn the keys over to rookie Jack Strand. The Panthers are going to have the team already questioning the hiring of Kevin Stefanski.

Minnesota Vikings at Chicago Bears

The Bears dropped 59 points last week, but the Vikings defense is no joke and it’s going to be a different story. This Bears team reminds me a lot of the Cincinnati Bengals, all offense, very little defense. The Ben Johnson led squad is going to put up a battle against the Vikings defense and Caleb Williams will start off 2-0 in a big division win.

Philadelphia Eagles at Tennessee Titans

The Eagles and Titans both underperformed in week 1. For the Eagles, they barely scathed by the Washington Commanders. For the Titans, they got embarrassed by the New York Jets. The Titans performance was much worse and the Eagles are much better than the Jets. This game is going to be a smackdown in the making.

Pittsburgh Steelers at New England Patriots

The Steelers look to be okay with Mike Tomlin out of the picture which means they still are stuck in mediocrity. The Patriots looked rough in a week 1 opener and lost new receiver AJ Brown. They will have TreVeyon Henderson back which should definitely help their offense get the ball moving. I like the Patriots 1-2 running back combo and Romeo Doubs to bounce back with his first real action in New England.

Green Bay Packers at New York Jets

The Packers got off to a hot start against the Vikings, but collapsed in terrible fashion, as they lost 39-22 against the Carson Wentz led Vikings. Jordan Love struggled to move the ball in the 2nd half. I’m not expecting those same struggles against the New York Jets who lost Quinnen Williams and Sauce Gardner from their team last year. The Packers should win, but it won’t be as dominant as they’d like it to be.

Cleveland Browns at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Baker Mayfield squares off against his former team and he is hungry to annihilate them. The Browns looked awful in week 1, but so did the Buccaneers. At least for Baker, he has a reason to play, you can’t say the same thing about the quarterback under center for the Browns.

New Orleans Saints at Baltimore Ravens

The Saints put up an incredible fight against the Detroit Lions, losing in overtime on a failed two-point conversion. The Lions defense is nowhere near as good as the Ravens defense which just shut down the Colts. The Ravens will be smooth sailing with back to back commanding victories.

Cincinnati Bengals at Houston Texans

The Texans defense gave up over 400 yards and 30+ points to the Buffalo Bills. If one team can do that damage to their defense it’s Buffalo. Cincinnati can be in shootouts of their own, but where Cincinnati is different from Buffalo is their offensive line. The Bills have a much better offensive line that was able to block Will Anderson Jr and Danielle Hunter from doing any damage. The Bengals offensive line is one of the worst in the league and they are going to cause some wreckage for Joe Burrow.

Jacksonville Jaguars at Denver Broncos

Two elite defenses, but one of these teams has the better offense. That squad is the “small-market” team in Jacksonville who had a flawless performance last week. It might’ve been against the Browns, but Jacksonville looked dominant on both sides of the ball. They should carry that same momentum into mile-high and force the Broncos to go 0-2.

Las Vegas Raiders at Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers got embarrassed at home in a game classified as the easiest win all season last week against the Cardinals. This is a prove-it redemption game that is very winnable. Justin Herbert is going to unleash for a 300-yard performance as the offense dials it up a notch against the Raiders.

Washington Commanders at Dallas Cowboys

For the 2nd straight week, the Washington Commanders and Dallas Cowboys will both be facing a NFC East opponent. Both teams lost their week 1 matchups, so an 0-2 start in division play is an awful start to the year. Unfortunately, that will be the reality for one of them and it’s going to be close. Again, the offenses here are the better units for each and it’s whoever we trust more and that’s the veteran experience that Dak Prescott brings.

Seattle Seahawks at Arizona Cardinals

The Seahawks didn’t need Sam Darnold or Kenneth Walker III to take home a win in week 1 against the New England Patriots. KWIII they let walk in free agency and Darnold got hurt early in the first quarter. It was the Drew Lock show as he connected with All-Pro WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba to torch the Rams. The Seahawks can win without Darnold, thanks to JSN and how unstoppable their defense can be.

Miami Dolphins at San Francisco 49ers

The biggest point spread of the week and for good reason is the 49ers over the Dolphins with the 49ers being a two-touchdown favorite. The 49ers should have no problem clearing that and then some. The Dolphins are arguably the worst team in the league and there’s very few things to like about this team.

Indianapolis Colts at Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs and Broncos were both playing with quarterbacks recovering from surgery. Funnily enough, the Chiefs will face another opponent with a quarterback recovering from surgery with Daniel Jones who missed the second half of last season. Daniel Jones looked like Superman in the first half of last year and in his first game back, he showed signs that he’s not fully healthy. The Colts should let him sit and recover fully as they aren’t going to win many games with him playing at less than 100%.

New York Giants at Los Angeles Rams

It’s fair to say that Sean McVay never wants to play in an international game again after the embarrassment that the San Francisco 49ers put on them. The Rams managed one touchdown and that’s for a team with the reigning MVP in Matthew Stafford and All-Pro Puka Nacua. Stafford looked out of his element. I’m expecting him to get back into form against the Giants who also play in primetime for the 2nd week in a row. The Giants pulled off a big win, but the Rams defense with the extra rest should be back into form. The Rams bounce back big.
