Each week we’ll break down one player that should start in your fantasy lineup and one that would be better left on the bench per position. There are just a couple players like Christian McCaffrrey who are matchup proof and should be in your starting lineups every week barring a major circumstance.
Running Backs to Start:
Kenneth Walker
Walker’s had a couple down weeks with Charbonnet taking away some of his carries. We think the Seahawks might do something like Detroit with a one-two punch, but Walker is too good to not give the ball to and we think he’s going to have a big bounce back game against Washington. He’s not sitting in any of our lineups for this reason.
James Cook
The Bills are going to put on a clinic against a Broncos team that gave up 70 to Miami. The Bills will be attacking Denver through both the pass and the run game and we expect Cook to have a season best performance.
Joe Mixon
With Higgins out, the rest of the starters on the Bengals offense are going to need to step up the work a little bit, especially with Chase being limited. Mixon is one guy we’re looking at to pick up a lot of the slack and think he can manage that workload. The Texans are one of the league’s worst run defenses, so it helps that this is the game that Higgins misses.
Running Backs to Sit:
Bijan Robinson
We don’t trust Arthur Smith and he should be fired. We can’t start Bijan if we have safer options out there with higher floors but lower ceilings. Arthur Smith is intentionally not utilizing the weapons at his disposal.
Gus Edwards
Gus Edwards has been a touchdown machine lately, but we think that streak comes to an end against Cleveland who boasts one of the league’s best defenses. It’s going to be a low scoring game and if Baltimore does put up any touchdowns, it’s going to be through Lamar Jackson.
Rachaad White
The Titans haven’t done a lot of things well this season, but one thing they still have been able to manage is their run defense. Going against a Tampa Bay team that already struggles to run the ball, Rachaad White is a must bench in all formats.
