2024-2025 NFL Final Award Predictions

As we look back on the 2024 NFL Season, we can celebrate some of the top players & teams across the league. We do this by looking at who is most deserving of the NFL’s top honors and we’ll be breaking down who we predict should win each while also looking at who we had winning this award at the halfway point of the season.

MVP: Josh Allen

The Buffalo quarterback might not have had his best season statistically nor finish top 5 in yards or passing touchdowns in the NFL, but he had a phenomenal season. He succeeded with a tough schedule without Stefon Diggs & without Gabe Davis. Allen played like a leader this year and would put the team on his back and he didn’t need to put up stats in garbage time, but rather made it a team effort. Allen’s the reason the Bills made it as far as they did in the playoffs. Lamar needs to be recognized for his incredible season as well, statistically much better than Allen, but Lamar had more help than Allen with Derrick Henry & company to help support his season.

Midseason MVP Prediction: Josh Allen

Offensive Player of the Year: Saquon Barkley

This was the year for Saquon, he put up highlight reel after highlight reel this year & had over 2,000 yards rushing with one benched game away from breaking the single season rushing record. It was a season that will still end up in the history books and Saquon finally gets to experience what it’s like to be on a winning team which he deserves after being in New York for too long & had a few seasons derailed by injuries.

Midseason OPOY Prediction: Derrick Henry

Defensive Player of the Year: TJ Watt

This year, there is not a clear frontrunner for defensive player of the year and a handful of players who are in the running including Trey Hendrickson, Patrick Surtain II, Kerby Joseph, Xavier McKinney, & TJ Watt. If we’re looking at stats across the board, Watt is top 10 in multiple categories and where we’re leaning towards giving the award to him, specifically forced fumbles which is the difference maker between him & Hendrickson.

Midseason DPOY Prediction: TJ Watt

Offensive Rookie of the Year: Jayden Daniels

The runaway favorite for offensive rookie of the year is Washington’s Jayden Daniels. After years of mediocrity & being projected to be one of the worst teams in football, Jayden Daniels turned the entire franchise around with hope for the future with the Commanders finishing the regular season with 12 wins and in the playoffs.

Midseason OROY Prediction: Jayden Daniels

Defensive Rookie of the Year: Jared Verse

When Aaron Donald suddenly announced his retirement, there was a long silence in Los Angeles as they did not know what to do next. They did not anticipate having to fill such a massive hole in their defense for someone who is irreplaceable. The Rams immediately decided to invest their draft capital on defense and it paid off, with rookie Jared Verse leading all rookies in sacks and was good enough to earn himself his first of many Pro Bowl nominations to come.

Midseason DROY Prediction: Jared Verse

Comeback Player of the Year: Joe Burrow

This award should truly go to Sam Darnold for leading the Vikings to a 14-3 record, but Darnold is not eligible to win this award unfortunately. With the first half of the year he was having, Cousins was on pace as a lock for it, but it all fell apart in the 2nd half for him & the Falcons. Thus leaving not many worthy contenders with Joe Burrow being the favorite. Burrow had an amazing season despite the Bengals missing the playoffs, but he wins this award even though he didn’t miss too much time last year.

Midseason CPOY Prediction: Kirk Cousins

Coach of the Year: Kevin O’Connell

This award is based on the team’s performance during the regular season. If it were for the playoffs, Washington’s Dan Quinn would be given the award, but for the regular season, Kevin O’Connell deserves the award. The Vikings finished the season with an impressive 14-3 record which was 2nd best in the NFC behind fellow division rival Detroit. For Minnesota, after Kirk Cousins left in free agency, the Vikings drafted JJ McCarthy to be the quarterback of the future, but during the offseason, he went down for the year, turning to veteran backup Sam Darnold. Many considered Darnold a bust & the Vikings season being doomed from the start. The Vikings ended up doing the opposite and the leadership of O’Connell was apparent throughout the whole season.

Midseason COTY Prediction: Dan Quinn
