We’re 4 games away from the AFC & NFC Championship matchups which feature the best 2 teams from each conference. We’ll be breaking down the 4 matchups this weekend and predicting which teams are only one game away from the Super Bowl.
Houston Texans at Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs starters are well-rested after the wild card bye & sitting in week 18. The Texans pulled off a commanding win in the wild card shutting down Justin Herbert and forcing 4 interceptions after he only threw 3 all year. The Texans and Chiefs did face one another a month ago and the Chiefs won that one by 8. The Chiefs forced multiple turnovers on CJ Stroud and we’re expecting a very similar outcome this go around as the Chiefs make their way to yet another AFC Championship game.
Winner: Kansas City Chiefs
Washington Commanders at Detroit Lions
The Commanders have won their last 5 games on the last play of the game. That ends this weekend in Detroit as Detroit is going to make this more than a one score game and is going to beat Washington. The Lions have bullied teams this season with their only 2 losses coming to other teams in the playoffs. The only team in the NFC that has the firepower to compete with the Lions right now is Philly and we’ll be touching on them next.
Winner: Detroit Lions
Los Angeles Rams at Philadelphia Eagles
If this game were being played almost anywhere else, our money would be on the Rams. But with the freezing temperatures at stake, that’s one thing that Matthew Stafford has not thrived in during his lengthy career. He’s not as bad as Tua when it comes to the cold, but it’s something that the Eagles have at their advantage. We expect Hurts to not play well either, but not so much because of the cold but because the versatile defensive front for Los Angeles is going to bring the heat. The difference maker in this game is going to be All-Pro running back Saquon Barkley. Barkley can transform a game and is going to have a monster performance that sends the Eagles to the NFC Championship.
Winner: Philadelphia Eagles
Baltimore Ravens at Buffalo Bills
Arguably the best game being played this weekend features the top 2 quarterbacks in the NFL. The winner of this game will likely feature the MVP winner. There’s a lot of pressure on both quarterbacks as they both are looking to make their first Super Bowl appearance and the winner of this game should be the one in the big game. These teams played once already in Baltimore where Baltimore manhandled the Bills. This game is in Buffalo where they have the advantage with the weather. Josh Allen has been playing Superman lately, but the Ravens defense has kicked it into high gear over the last month of the season and is going to make Josh Allen wait more one year before he can make it to the big game. The Ravens come out on top in a thriller.
