Each week we’ll break down three players that should start in your fantasy lineup and three that would be better left on the bench per position. There are players like Josh Allen & Lamar Jackson who are matchup proof and should be in your starting lineups every week barring a major circumstance.
Quarterbacks to Start in Week 9:
Matthew Stafford
The Seahawks have been blown up the last few weeks and it’s going to be no different against a Rams offense with a healthy Kupp and Nacua. Stafford hits his stride two weeks in a row in another big win.
Caleb Williams
After a bit of a dud against Washington, Caleb Williams faces a very pass friendly defense in Arizona. The Cardinals might win the game but expect the Bears offense to bounce back big.
Joe Flacco
The Vikings defense was elite to start the year but have slipped a little the last couple weeks and we expect veteran Flacco to take advantage of that in his return start.
Quarterbacks to Sit in Week 9:
Baker Mayfield
Baker might be a top 5 fantasy quarterback on the year and was on pace to finish as one. However, that was when Godwin and Evans were healthy. It was apparent last weekend without the two of them, he doesn’t have the support from his team to continue that performance. That will continue until Mike Evans is back.
Tua Tagovailoa
Tua was cautious in his first game back from the injured reserve and is likely to continue that play style against a Buffalo team that dominates the Dolphins. That play style is going to do Tua no good as the Bills hold Miami in check and give Tua a tough time wishing he was still sitting.
Jameis Winston
Winston got a chance last weekend and made the most of it as the Browns pulled off the surprising victory. We expect Winston to go back to his old self and the normal turnover machine we’re used to seeing.
