After 6 weeks of having 2 undefeated teams, the Minnesota Vikings fell and then there was only one, the Kansas City Chiefs. Can the Chiefs remain undefeated or will they fall? We’ll be looking at their game & the remaining 15 games across the league. Through 7 weeks, we are 69-38 in predicting matchups.
Minnesota Vikings at Los Angeles Rams
The Vikings are coming off their first loss of the season which they blew on a field goal with just seconds remaining to Detroit. Teams that play Detroit, have gone on to lose their next game 4 times this season. The Vikings are also traveling out west on a short week which can cause the team to be sluggish. For the Rams, Cooper Kupp should be back & the offense should perform better. All signs point to this game being a trap for the Vikings and we’re going with the Rams in the upset.
Winner: Los Angeles Rams
Philadelphia Eagles at Cincinnati Bengals
The Eagles come into this game as the underdogs when they should be the favorites. The Bengals might have won the last 2 games to crawl their way to a 3-4 record, but they didn’t hold a commanding lead in either one, only beating the Giants by 10 points & then barely beating the Browns. The Eagles played the same Giants team one week after the Bengals and beat them by 25. The Eagles are the better team and are getting closer to being fully healthy and it’s going to be a big game on the ground for Saquon Barkley who crushes the Bengals offense and puts them down to 3-5.
Winner: Philadelphia Eagles
Baltimore Ravens at Cleveland Browns
The Browns are a better team without Watson in the picture and Jameis instantly brings this team up a notch. It’ll be nice to see how they play throughout the rest of the year with Jameis under center, but the first game is going to be a rough one against the division leaders. The Ravens should easily blow the Browns out of the water, especially after coming off a big win on the road against Tampa Bay.
Winner: Baltimore Ravens
Tennessee Titans at Detroit Lions
After beating the undefeated Minnesota Vikings on the road, the Detroit Lions are the favorites to make the Super Bowl from the NFC side. There aren’t many teams that can stop them and the Titans are 1000% not even going to come close to putting up a fight. The Titans are one of the worst teams in the league and should end up losing their 2nd straight road game by at least multiple scores.
Winner: Detroit Lions
Arizona Cardinals at Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins designated Tua Tagovailoa to return and is practicing in limited fashion indicating that he is likely to be cleared to play this weekend. If so, the offense that has only put up 40 points since he’s been out can very well put up 40 points in this game. The greatest show on turf should be back and should blow out the Arizona Cardinals if Tua plays the full game.
Winner: Miami Dolphins
New York Jets at New England Patriots
In their first game with Davante Adams, the Jets had a little bit of promise early on before they fell apart and got blown out by the Steelers. The Patriots are also accustomed to being blown out and did just that against the Jaguars in London. Thankfully for both teams, neither will get blown out and this will be an ugly low scoring game. The Jets end up pulling out the win, but neither team will show much life in this game.
Winner: New York Jets
Atlanta Falcons at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Falcons won this matchup earlier in the season and are going to win the second one as well. The Buccaneers are going to be down both Mike Evans who is going to be out for the next few weeks with a hamstring injury & Chris Godwin who is likely out for the season with an ankle injury. The Bucs are going to need to rely on their run game, but that’s not going to be enough to beat Atlanta. The injuries are too much to overcome and are going to hurt their season significantly.
Winner: Atlanta Falcons
Green Bay Packers at Jacksonville Jaguars
Both the Green Bay Packers & Jacksonville Jaguars came away with big wins in week 7. The Packers beat the Texans in a thriller between two very talented playoff teams. The Jaguars travel back to the States from London with a win against the Patriots to save their season from complete doom. That short bit of hope is going to hit a roadblock real fast against a Super Bowl contender with Green Bay. Green Bay moves to 6-2 ahead of their very big matchup against the Detroit Lions next weekend.
Winner: Green Bay Packers
Indianapolis Colts at Houston Texans
If you watched any of the Colts game against the Dolphins, you could tell that was one of their worst performances of the year. They might have gotten the win, but Anthony Richardson could not throw the ball, the Colts let the Dolphins run all over them, and they had costly mistakes that easily could have cost them the game if they played a team with some competence. The Texans are going to walk all over the Colts.
Winner: Houston Texans
New Orleans Saints at Los Angeles Chargers
If Derek Carr ends up playing, this game will go another way. Odds are that he will not play and the entirety of the offense will struggle, even Alvin Kamara who recently signed a 2 year extension to stay with the Saints. The Chargers have one of the best defenses in the NFL & get the win without Derek Carr playing.
Winner: Los Angeles Chargers
Buffalo Bills at Seattle Seahawks
This game is going to end one of two ways, either the Buffalo Bills blow Seattle out of the water or the Seahawks win in a nail biter from a Buffalo choke job. This game feels like a trap for Buffalo, but if Buffalo can get ahead early, we don’t think the Seahawks are going to be able to catch up.
Winner: Buffalo Bills
Carolina Panthers at Denver Broncos
The Broncos really only have one solid win under their belt and should easily move to 5-3 with another easy win before they get into their tougher second half. With the Panthers moving to 1-7, they need to bring back Bryce Young and give him the chance to learn & develop.
Winner: Denver Broncos
Kansas City Chiefs at Las Vegas Raiders
The Raiders are in shambles after Aidan O’Connell went down with an injury and they traded away star receiver Davante Adams. The Raiders are going to continue to be sellers ahead of the trade deadline and it’s likely that we will see Maxx Crosby on the move. Every loss they endure makes for a higher likelihood that they will sell more. The Chiefs are always a team the Raiders tend to play tough, but their organization is in a rough spot and the team needs to be sold and moved in a different direction, the Chiefs will win big as they continue to remain the lone undefeated team in the league.
Winner: Kansas City Chiefs
Chicago Bears at Washington Commanders
This matchup was intended to have the #1 draft pick in Caleb Williams face the #2 draft pick in Jayden Daniels. Unfortunately, Jayden Daniels went down with a rib injury in their win last week & is unlikely to make it back in time for this matchup. Both teams have been questioned on their winning records for not having real competition yet and the winner of this game will lead to that team positioning themselves as a legitimate playoff wild card hopeful. That team is going to end up being the Chicago Bears with the healthy quarterback & their defense that has been surprisingly one of the better units in the league.
Winner: Chicago Bears
Dallas Cowboys at San Francisco 49ers
Despite Dallas coming off a bye & the San Francisco 49ers dealing with a plethora of injuries including the loss to Brandon Aiyuk for the season, the 49ers should still win this big game on Sunday Night. The Cowboys are also battered up, especially on defense missing two of their best players in Micah Parsons & DaRon Bland. The 49ers can take advantage of this and run the ball heavily against one of the league’s worst run defenses. The 49ers need this win to avoid being 2 games away from .500 and we expect them to do just that.
Winner: San Francisco 49ers
New York Giants at Pittsburgh Steelers
Brian Daboll has put Daniel Jones on the hot seat and indicated that Drew Lock might see the field if Daniel Jones continues playing the way he has been. The Jones era in New York might be coming to an end soon and his play doesn’t look like it’s going to get better, especially with matchups against tough defenses like the Pittsburgh Steelers ahead. Russell Wilson is thankful for the play of their defense as he can get back into the swing of things in his second start in Pittsburgh and start his career there with a 2-0 record.
