2024 Fantasy Football Week 7: Start or Sit Quarterbacks: What to Make of Russell Wilson’s First Start in Pittsburgh

Each week we’ll break down three players that should start in your fantasy lineup and three that would be better left on the bench per position. There are players like Josh Allen & Lamar Jackson who are matchup proof and should be in your starting lineups every week barring a major circumstance.

Quarterbacks to Start in Week 7:

Justin Herbert

The Cardinals have given up 20+ points in all but one game this year. Most of those scores have been through opposing teams’ quarterbacks. This sets for a very favorable matchup for Justin Herbert and the Chargers offense on Monday night.

Anthony Richardson

When playing, Richardson has been inconsistent this season but he’s set to start after missing the last couple games. His first start back is against Miami who has been torn apart by many teams this year and with Jonathan Taylor out for the Colts, Richardson is going to need to use his legs to get more of the work on the ground as Trey Sermon can’t be trusted.

Baker Mayfield

A tough matchup for the Ravens isn’t making us shy away from starting the #1 overall fantasy quarterback on the season. Baker is a must play even against one of the league’s best units.

Quarterbacks to Sit in Week 7:

Kyler Murray

The Chargers have given up the fewest points per game on the season. We don’t expect them to move down more than a couple spots on that feat against Arizona who faltered after their first good game of the season. With Marvin Harrison Jr back, Kyler is closer to being starting worthy, but there’s better options out there for this week.

Aaron Rodgers

It’s tempting to want to start Aaron Rodgers with all-pro Davante Adams in town, but we don’t know how much juice he still has left & a first matchup against the 2nd best defense in the league in Pittsburgh is one we’re steering clear of.

Russell Wilson

Russell Wilson gets his first start of the season and first start with the Pittsburgh Steelers. It’s certainly exciting, but with the Broncos last season, he was awful and we’re hoping he can turn his career around in the black & gold, but we need to see some gameplay from him before we can make a full decision on where he should be. He’s better left in your league’s free agency, unless you’re in superflex or dynasty.
