The 2024 MLB Playoffs have been crazy with upsets, walk off victories, and electric plays. We’re down to the final 3 series in the playoffs and we’ll be breaking down our predictions for how the ALCS & NLCS are going to play out.
ALCS: New York Yankees (#1) vs. Cleveland Guardians (#2)
This is a series that is going to be determined by hitting and whatever team can stay hot. Both the Yankees and Guardians have suffered from cold spells during the season after hot streaks. The Guardians are the hotter team right now after they won on incredible plays from the likes of Lane Thomas and company. We’re not sure if they can continue this against a Yankees team in a full series. The Yankees have home run leader Aaron Judge who has been quiet lately and is bound to turn up big anytime now. We like the Yankees to light up the scoreboard and come in clutch on their way to another World Series.
ALCS Winner: New York Yankees in 6
NLCS: Los Angeles Dodgers (#1) vs. New York Mets (#6)
The Mets have been on an incredible run with locking up the last playoff spot, taking down the Brewers, and then toppling the Phillies. The Mets run has largely been due to the play of their offense with Pete Alonso & Slam Francisco being the leaders of the team. These heavy hitters might only be able to go so far before they get slowed down by the deep pitching rotation of the Dodgers. If this series goes for more than 4-5 games, the Dodgers are going to prevail with the depth of their roster. Not only that, but they have the best player in the game in Shohei Ohtani who is going to make his first ever World Series in what’s already been an incredibly historic season for him.
