2024 Fantasy Football Week 2: Start or Sit Quarterbacks

Each week we’ll break down three players that should start in your fantasy lineup and three that would be better left on the bench per position. There are players like Patrick Mahomes & Lamar Jackson who are matchup proof and should be in your starting lineups every week barring a major circumstance.

Quarterbacks to Start in Week 2

Jayden Daniels

Despite the loss, the Commanders have to be feeling great about the future of their franchise if it’s in the hands of Jayden Daniels. Daniels was electric in week 1 and will only get better as time goes on. Against a Giants team that is one of the worst in the league, all signs are pointing to Jayden Daniels being a top 3 fantasy quarterback on the week.

Baker Mayfield & Jared Goff

The two quarterbacks square off against one another in what’s set to be a high scoring affair. Baker was electric in week 1 with 4 touchdowns & should continue to play at a high level. Goff wasn’t in his best game against the Rams, but in what’s set to be a higher scoring shootout, there’s going to be more opportunities for him to put up some touchdowns. We expect both quarterbacks to have multiple touchdowns and 200+ yards each.

Quarterbacks to Sit in Week 2:

Derek Carr

Carr might have thrown 3 touchdowns in week 1, but that was against a Panthers team that is bottom 3 in the league. Carr now faces the other end of the spectrum in an elite Cowboys defense. The Saints offense is going to get a reality check and if you’re starting Carr based on his performance last week, our word of advice is don’t.

Deshaun Watson

The quarterback looks like a shell of his old self & is only going to continue to struggle. A pathetic performance in week 1 is about to be followed up by an even worse performance in week 2 as the Browns fall to the Jaguars.

Joe Burrow

In a game against Kansas City, we never thought we would put Burrow on this list. But after the performance by the entire Bengals team in week 1, we’re nervous starting Burrow. If we have a solid backup like Trevor Lawrence or Brock Purdy, we would opt for one of those guys. If Burrow is your lone QB on your roster, we understand needing to start. Until this offense shows some breath of life, we are fading them.
