2023 NFL Week 16 Predictions

With only 3 weeks left in the regular season, a lot is on the line and a lot of big matchups are happening this weekend with playoff implications. As we’re writing this, we already picked the Rams which we would have kept the same regardless of how that match up turned out since this is being posted after that matchup. Through the first 15 weeks of the season, we’re 143-81 in picks.

New Orleans Saints at Los Angeles Rams

The Saints and Rams both enter this game at 7-7 fighting for a playoff spot. A win in this game would be huge for both teams. The Rams offense has been playing rather well over the last 3 games with Matthew Stafford looking like his old self. We’re riding with the hot team and expecting another big game from the Georgia boy.

Winner: Los Angeles Rams

Cincinnati Bengals at Pittsburgh Steelers

After starting 6-3, the Pittsburgh Steelers have been losers of 4 of their last 5 games with two of those games being against the Cardinals and Patriots at home which is embarrassing. The Steelers streak of finishing above .500 is going to come to an end this year and the Bengals put them below .500 for the first time this season.

Winner: Cincinnati Bengals

Buffalo Bills at Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers allowed 63 points last week to the Raiders starting Aidan O’Connell. They now face an offense with Josh Allen. James Cook, and Stefon Diggs. It’s going to be a bloodbath out there and we would recommend turning away if you’re a Chargers fan.

Winner: Buffalo Bills

Indianapolis Colts at Atlanta Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons have turned to Taylor Heinecke with how poor Desmond Ridder has played. The Falcons should probably do the same thing with coach Arthur Smith and move on from his as well with how poor the decisions he’s made this season have been. The Falcons should play better this week with the game being in Atlanta and better weather conditions. That doesn’t mean they still won’t lose as the Colts are in town and are playing these next couple weeks to get into the playoffs and potentially even win the division. Minshew mania continues to play well and we’re expecting another big performance from the veteran quarterback.

Winner: Indianapolis Colts

Seattle Seahawks at Tennessee Titans

Both the Seattle Seahawks and Tennessee Titans have gotten some big wins in recent weeks with the Seahawks beating the Eagles on Monday Night Football and the Titans winning the previous Monday Night Football against Miami in Miami. This game isn’t as big, but could help show where their future is headed. If the Seahawks stick with Drew Lock at quarterback, he’s playing for a shot to be a starting quarterback in the NFL again and we think he’s going to come out guns blazing and the Seahawks can win this game with him under center.

Winner: Seattle Seahawks

Detroit Lions at Minnesota Vikings

With a win on Sunday, the Detroit Lions will win the NFC North for the first time in franchise history. The last time they won a division, it was the NFC Central. The Lions should be able to accomplish that feat against a Vikings team that will be missing Alexander Mattison, has Jefferson questionable to play, and turning to Nick Mullens at quarterback. The Lions are in a good spot to take home the title.

Winner: Detroit Lions

Washington Commanders at New York Jets

The Commanders and Jets both are not entertaining teams to watch. Both have a couple players who outshine everyone else and both their seasons are in the dumps. The Jets win this one, but it won’t be pretty.

Winner: New York Jets

Green Bay Packers at Carolina Panthers

The Panthers got their second win of the season last week in a cold rainy game between the Atlanta Falcons. The Panthers get to stay at home for the second week in a row but this time it’s going to be in the 60s and perfect playing conditions for the Packers to keep the Panthers as the worst team in the league. The Packers have been on the decline but get a bounceback win against an abomination of a franchise.

Winner: Green Bay Packers

Cleveland Browns at Houston Texans

The Texans are without CJ Stroud for the second week in a row and this limits their whole offense. Last week, they scraped by with a win, but going against a tough Cleveland Browns defense, we don’t think they are going to be able to pull off that feat two weeks in a row.

Winner: Cleveland Browns

Jacksonville Jaguars at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The in-state matchup between the Jacksonville Jaguars and Tampa Bay Buccaneers is going to be a good one. Trevor Lawrence cleared concussion protocol and should be playing and the Buccaneers are riding with Baker Mayfield who is proving that he deserves to be a starting quarterback in the NFL. With Lawrence still banged up, the Buccaneers are winning this one and extending their gap as the leader in the NFC South.

Winner: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Arizona Cardinals at Chicago Bears

Two of the bottom five teams in the NFL play one another in a game that would be better for both teams if they lost. The Bears own the Panthers pick which will most likely be #1 overall so they have a little more flexibility and reason to try to win. That alone and Justin Fields playing for his future will be enough to get them the win.

Winner: Chicago Bears

Dallas Cowboys at Miami Dolphins

In the 1st potential Super Bowl matchup of the weekend, we get the Dallas Cowboys visiting the Miami Dolphins. The Cowboys were just absolutely embarrassed against Buffalo last week while the Dolphins won in a shutout over the Jets. The Cowboys don’t perform well on the road and the Dolphins haven’t beaten a team with a winning record this season. The winner of this game will have proven that they can finally defeat their kryptonite. We think that team will be the Dallas Cowboys. The Miami Dolphins offense has looked unbeatable at times, but when matching up a team with a good offense and defense like the Eagles or the Chiefs, they’ve faltered. The Cowboys narrowly get the edge with a large part to their defense led by Micah Parsons to slow down this offense.

Winner: Dallas Cowboys

New England Patriots at Denver Broncos

The Patriots hold the 2nd worst record in the NFL and it’s time for the team to move on from Belichick and Mac Jones. This team is just bad and can’t even compete against other bad teams. The Broncos are one game out of the wild card race now, but get a win to try to come from behind in that race and sneak their way in with just a couple weeks left.

Winner: Denver Broncos

Las Vegas Raiders at Kansas City Chiefs

The Raiders might have just dropped 63 points and must feel like they’re on top of the world right now after that performance. They now get a major reality check against an actual Super Bowl contending team in Kansas City. After a couple weeks where they haven’t looked their best, the Chiefs are trying to prove that they still are the best team in the AFC West.

Winner: Kansas City Chiefs

New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles

The Tommy DeVito craze seems to have taken a big hit after their loss to the Saints last week. The craze will soon fall down even further after the Giants lose in embarrassing fashion to the Philadelphia Eagles who are on a mission to get the #1 overall seed and a first round bye in the playoffs.

Winner: Philadelphia Eagles

Baltimore Ravens at San Francisco 49ers

In the 2nd of the 2 potential Super Bowl Matchups being played this weekend features the two best overall teams in the entire NFL facing off against one another. The Baltimore Ravens visit the San Francisco 49ers in a game that has the 49ers nearly a touchdown lead which is making the Ravens furious. This game will be closer than that touchdown spread, but we’re still giving the edge to the 49ers. The Ravens run game is hurt with Dobbins & Mitchell out for the year and the Ravens looking to avoid relying on Lamar Jackson for everything. How the Ravens offense performs against San Francisco now will be a true test to see how they can match up in the playoffs. Both their defenses are near even, but we need to give the edge to the 49ers to win this game with how well their offense has been playing, especially since Brock Purdy has entered his name in the MVP conversation.

Winner: San Francisco 49ers
