Each week, we’ll be breaking down every matchup with who should come out on top. Through 12 weeks, we are 115-65 and hopeful to bounce back after a couple more losses than we would like last week. This week’s article was published after TNF but we kept the content that we wrote before the game where we selected Dallas.
Seattle Seahawks at Dallas Cowboys
The Seahawks and the Cowboys both play on a Thursday for the second week in a row. The Seahawks lost to the 49ers last week and the Cowboys won big against Washington. The outcome should be the same for both teams as Dallas gets another big win against an offense that lost Kenneth Walker and is just waiting for his return.
Winner: Dallas Cowboys
Indianapolis Colts at Tennessee Titans
The 4 wins that the Tennessee Titans have on the season were all played at home. The Colts have the better record, but will be without Jonathan Taylor and this feels like a Derrick Henry ground and pound game waiting to happen. We’re going with Tennessee to improve to 5-1 at home.
Winner: Tennessee Titans
Los Angeles Chargers at New England Patriots
The Patriots are set to start Bailey Zappe this weekend giving him his third career start after Mac Jones got benched. The Patriots are trying to get something going, but losing last week against the Giants was a sign their season is a lost cause. The Patriots have thrown in the towel and are going to pretty much let the Chargers offense walk all over them.
Winner: Los Angeles Chargers
Detroit Lions at New Orleans Saints
The Lions got a reality check last week losing to the Packers on Thanksgiving day at home. The Lions are going to turn that around by getting a nice road win against the Saints which will set the Saints back in the tight NFC South race.
Winner: Detroit Lions
Atlanta Falcons at New York Jets
The Atlanta Falcons somehow sit atop the NFC South and a win could help them gain a larger lead of the title. It’s not going to be a great game to watch as the Falcons have Arthur Smith coaching and the Jets don’t know what they are doing at quarterback. We think the Falcons will win an ugly one since Tim Boyle is set to start again giving the Jets less hope.
Winner: Atlanta Falcons
Arizona Cardinals at Pittsburgh Steelers
After looking like things were going to turn around with Kyler Murray back in the mix, the Cardinals proved us wrong and went back to being a bottom-dweller team after getting blown out by the Rams. The Cardinals now need to travel to Pittsburgh who should get another win as Arizona loses again. The Steelers just keep on winning in ugly games and this is what this week should be, another ugly win.
Winner: Pittsburgh Steelers
Miami Dolphins at Washington Commanders
The Miami Dolphins are rolling with an 8-3 record after beating the Jets by multiple touchdowns on Black Friday. They keep beating teams with losing records and have yet to beat a team with a winning record this season, but they won’t get that chance for a few weeks. This week, they get Washington on the road who last played Dallas on Thanksgiving and got blown out. It’s going to be another blowout when they get an even better offense.
Winner: Miami Dolphins
Denver Broncos at Houston Texans
The Broncos are the hottest team in football right now with some big wins including one over the defending Super Bowl Champions in Kansas City. This matchup against Houston on the road will be surprisingly one of the best matchups of the weekend. Both teams are 6-5 and their quarterbacks are both playing their best football. This will be an exciting one to watch and we’re going with Houston in the upset. We love the connection that CJ Stroud and Tank Dell have built and think the two of them will have another big game together.
Winner: Houston Texans
Carolina Panthers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The NFC South is the worst division in football and this is a game that you’d be better off not watching with how ugly it’s going to look. The Panthers just fired head coach Frank Reich and the Buccaneers couldn’t even beat the Colts. Frank Reich was just a scapegoat for the problem, when their overarching problem is poor management and a lackluster offense. The Buccaneers aren’t great, but they should get past the Panthers who are in shambles.
Winner: Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Cleveland Browns at Los Angeles Rams
The Rams were written off after multiple straight losses early on in the season but are looking like an outside shot of making the playoffs with a more favorable schedule ahead of them. The Browns offense is non-existent right now and this gives the Rams a nice shot to get back up to .500.
Winner: Los Angeles Rams
San Francisco 49ers at Philadelphia Eagles
In a rematch of the NFC Championship game from last season, the 49ers get a chance to get revenge on Philadelphia. Last year, Brock Purdy went down which ruined their chances of winning. This year, he’s healthy and is playing at an incredible level for someone who was drafted in the 7th round. Purdy is the guy and won the starting job over Jimmy G and Trey Lance for a reason. Philadelphia has only lost one game this year, but if someone is going to stop their winning streak now, it’s Purdy and this 49ers offense.
Winner: San Francisco 49ers
Kansas City Chiefs at Green Bay Packers
The Chiefs visit the Packers on Sunday Night Football in what should be a tough game. The Chiefs don’t look like their typical selves as of late and the Packers are fighting for their playoff hopes right now with every win mattering more and more. It’s going to be close, but Jordan Love doesn’t have enough to win in games that matter and this will be a lesson learned for the young quarterback.
Winner: Kansas City Chiefs
Cincinnati Bengals at Jacksonville Jaguars
In the first game with Jake Browning as the starter, the Bengals couldn’t even get past the Steelers. Now they have to visit Jacksonville without Burrow in a game that should not be on primetime. Jacksonville is going to make the Bengals drop 2 games behind .500 and potentially the closest they will be to .500 for the rest of the season.
