2023 Fantasy Football Week 12: Start Em’ or Sit Em’ Wide Receivers

Each week we’ll break down one player that should start in your fantasy lineup and one that would be better left on the bench per position. There are players like Stefon Diggs and Tyreek Hill who are matchup proof and should be in your starting lineups every week barring a major circumstance.

Wide Receivers to Start:

Calvin Ridley

The Jaguars and Texans are going to be in a shootout battling for the top of the AFC South. This game has a lot of implications and we know both teams are going to be going out there guns blazing. We’re expecting the receivers to reap the benefits on both teams and Calvin Ridley in particular who has had an up and down season gets his boom performance.

Michael Pittman Jr

Pittman Jr hasn’t been flashy this season, but he’s been consistent. In a pass friendly game script against the Buccaneers, we’re expecting another 10+ point performance from Pittman Jr and he’s someone you can rely on this week.

Jordan Addison

With Justin Jefferson’s status up in the air for Monday night, Jordan Addison will get the call as the #1 receiver. If Jefferson does play, it’ll be in a limited fashion and Addison’s going to see a lot more targets his way. Addison is worth the start whether Jefferson plays or not.

Wide Receivers to Sit:

Amari Cooper

With Watson out, the Browns already struggling pass offense basically goes obsolete. This limits the fantasy value of both Amari Cooper and David Njoku, but Cooper primarily was the number one receiver on this offense.

Gabriel Davis

The Bills face the Eagles on Sunday and all signs point to big game Gabe coming out, but we just don’t think that’s going to happen. We think Diggs is going to lead the charge and if Allen goes to a second receiver, it’s going to be rookie tight end Kincaid. We’re fading the big game Gabe as he is a big bust candidate.

Rashee Rice

Patrick Mahomes has quietly been finding a connection with rookie Rashee Rice over the last couple months. Kansas City should win this week and win big, but we think it’s going to be heavily reliant on the run. Pacheco is in store for a big game and we think CEH or McKinnon should see an increased usage as well.
