2023 Fantasy Football: Week 8 Start Em’ or Sit Em’ Running Backs

Each week we’ll break down one player that should start in your fantasy lineup and one that would be better left on the bench per position. There are just a couple players like Christian McCaffrrey who are matchup proof and should be in your starting lineups every week barring a major circumstance.

Running Backs to Start:

Jahmyr Gibbs

With David Montgomery likely out again, Jahmyr Gibbs gets lead back duties. He did well last week in their blowout loss in this role where he scored over 20 fantasy points. He should be able to repeat that against the Raiders with their whole offense in command.

Breece Hall

The Jets are coming off a bye week and the previous 2 games leading up to the bye were Breece Hall’s best performances of the season. With the extra rest, he could very well have his best game of the season topping those last 2 performances against a Giants team that is falling apart.

Isiah Pacheco

Pacheco has been on a roll as of late and the Chiefs should dominate the Broncos giving him plenty of late game touches to rack up his stat line. On top of that, the weather might not be favorable for the passing game which would lead to more carries for Pacheco in general. He’s our start of the week and we think he can eclipse the 20 point mark for the second time this season.

Running Backs to Sit:

Joe Mixon

The Bengals are on the road against a tough San Francisco defense. San Francisco has lost 2 straight and they’re going to make this game a fight. If Cincinnati can win, it’s going to need to be through the hands of Joe Burrow and not the running back room led by Joe Mixon.

Darrell Henderson Jr

Since Kyren Williams has been out, the Rams running back room has been a confusing place. Zach Evans was supposed to take the lead, then it became Darrell Henderson Jr and now he’s trending downwards. Henderson Jr has been the best performing of the trio in there now, but we’re not trusting him until we get more clarity on the situation.

Najee Harris

Najee Harris has slowly been getting outworked by Jaylen Warren each week. The Steelers need to do what the Cowboys waited years to do with Zeke and Pollard and just move on from Najee to let Warren be the lead back. Najee is not even worth trusting at flex right now unless you’re in a desperate situation.
