2023 Fantasy Football Week 8: Start Em’ or Sit Em’ Quarterbacks

Each week we’ll break down three players that should start in your fantasy lineup and three that would be better left on the bench per position. There are players like Patrick Mahomes & Josh Allen who are matchup proof and should be in your starting lineups every week barring a major circumstance.

Quarterbacks to Start:

CJ Stroud

The Texans face the winless Panthers in a battle of the rookie quarterbacks. Stroud’s been better so far on the year and continues to be the better quarterback in this game and the rest of the season.

Jared Goff

The Lions were dealt a reality check last week against Baltimore, but we’re expecting a big bounce back from the entire team starting with Jared Goff. Goff has done a great job of spreading the ball around the team and has the Lions in command of the NFC North.

Trevor Lawrence

The Steelers defense is what’s kept their team with a winning record, but the Jaguars have a lot to gain with a win and can go 6-2 entering their bye week. Trevor Lawrence is aware of that and is going to do everything he can to get the Jaguars in position for that. It’s going to be a Jaguars offense show with Lawrence and Etienne being two players we like this week.

Quarterbacks to Sit:

Tua Tagovailoa

We still believe Tua will be a top 12 fantasy quarterback, but in terms of a top 5 where he’s used to being this season, we don’t think that’s going to happen. The Patriots always play the Dolphins tough, Tyreek is going to play injured, and the Patriots pass defense is still one of the better units in the league.

Matthew Stafford

The Rams have a tough matchup against a Dallas Cowboys defense that has been hit or miss where they can completely shut down an opposing defense or make Josh Dobbs look like a pro. We think the first option is going to happen and it’s going to be a Cowboys win with the defense leading the charge.

Dak Prescott

On the other side of the Rams at Cowboys game is Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott. Prescott is in a bit of a down season where the offense just hasn’t been grooving. We think Prescott is going to have another down game against the Rams in what should largely be a defensive battle.
