2023 NFL Week 8 Predictions – Will Carolina Get Its First Win?

Will the Carolina Panthers get their first win of the 2023 season? We’ll be predicting their matchup along with the 15 other matchups across the league. Through 7 weeks of predicting, we’re 67-39.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Buffalo Bills

These are two teams who just as we think they’re contenders, they go and do something stupid. Both teams are inconsistent and we don’t have a lot of trust in them to make it far in the playoffs. We expect both offenses to underperform this week but Buffalo’s defense does a better job to help them secure the victory.

Winner: Buffalo Bills

Los Angeles Rams at Dallas Cowboys

The Rams visit the Cowboys minus Brett Maher who they released after missing multiple field goals and an extra point last week. Maher has played for both Rams and the Cowboys but neither team wants him back. This game isn’t going to come down to a field goal which is fortunate for both kickers as they won’t get their jobs questioned, but the Cowboys will put the Rams on the hot seat with a big win at home coming off of the bye.

Winner: Dallas Cowboys

Minnesota Vikings at Green Bay Packers

The Vikings got a huge win against Super Bowl contender San Francisco, meanwhile the Green Bay Packers are coming off a loss against the Broncos.  The Jordan Love experiment doesn’t seem like it’s the answer for the future and a loss at home against Minnesota could spark questions on their future.

Winner: Minnesota Vikings

Atlanta Falcons at Tennessee Titans

The Titans are likely going to be without Ryan Tannehill and are planning to play both Malik Willis and Will Levis this weekend. Without Tannehill, this already struggling offense should struggle even more and it’s going to need to rely on Derrick Henry even more. The defense also is going to be without Kevin Byard for the first time as he was traded away to the Philadelphia Eagles. The depleted offense and defense for Tennessee is enough for Atlanta to get a surprising 5th win and take control of the NFC South.

Winner: Tennessee Titans

New Orleans Saints at Indianapolis Colts

The Saints and Colts both lost close battles at home last week that they very well could have won. The Colts loss however was worse as it was against a Cleveland team who played PJ Walker for most of the game, while the Saints lost to a reeling Jacksonville team. New Orleans bounces back from their loss, but Indianapolis falls to 3-5 as they lose another close one.

Winner: New Orleans Saints

New England Patriots at Miami Dolphins

Bill Belichick pulled off the upset against Buffalo to get the 300th win of his career. Unfortunately he’s going to need to wait to get win 301 as the Dolphins should steamroll over the Patriots.

Winner: Miami Dolphins

New York Giants at New York Jets

The battle of the meadowlands as the two teams sharing a stadium face one another. The Giants are just bad this year and the Jets are a quarterback away from being a playoff team. The Jets defense though is legit and should hold the Giants backups in place.

Winner: New York Jets

Jacksonville Jaguars at Pittsburgh Steelers

Surprisingly, the Jaguars and Steelers only have 2 losses apiece, even though it feels like both have much more as they both have been in their fair share of battles this year. The Steelers and Jaguars are both coming off big road wins, but this game is going to come down to who wants it more and right now that’s Jacksonville. Jacksonville gets a huge win for their playoff chances and enters their bye week with an impressive 6-2 record.

Winner: Jacksonville Jaguars

Philadelphia Eagles at Washington Commanders

The Eagles and Commanders square off for the second time this year. Their first matchup went into overtime but the Eagles are hot right now and we think it’ll be a blowout this time around.

Winner: Philadelphia Eagles

Houston Texans at Carolina Panthers

The battle of the top overall draft picks is here as rookies Bryce Young and CJ Stroud will face each other for the first time in their professional careers. Stroud has his Texans at 3-3 and Bryce has yet to get a win as the Panthers are 0-6. This is the best shot the Panthers have at getting a win this far and we think they could do just enough to pull it off. We like Carolina edging out Houston in a close game as both rookie quarterbacks play sloppy.

Winner: Carolina Panthers

Cleveland Browns at Seattle Seahawks

Deshaun Watson is out again and now Jerome Ford is also likely to be out. The Browns offense is in shambles and is making their team fall. The defense can hold its own and should keep this game against Seattle close, but their offensive struggles are not enough for the defense to keep Seattle out of the end zone at least once or twice to get the win.

Winner: Seattle Seahawks

Kansas City Chiefs at Denver Broncos

Whether or not she’s at the game, Swifties will want to watch this game to watch Travis Kelce put up another monster performance. The Chiefs offense should light up the Broncos defense in another rout.

Winner: Kansas City Chiefs

Baltimore Ravens at Arizona Cardinals

The Ravens were dominant against a surging Detroit Lions team. The Ravens are our lock of the week against the 1-6 Arizona Cardinals.

Winner: Baltimore Ravens

Cincinnati Bengals at San Francisco 49ers

Brock Purdy is in concussion protocol and likely to miss this game with it being on a short week. That means that Sam Darnold will need to suit up for San Francisco and we don’t like their chances with him playing. This would be just what Cincinnati needs to start getting hot. If Brock Purdy plays, it’s a different question and we think the edge goes to San Francisco in that scenario.

Winner: Cincinnati Bengals

Chicago Bears at Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers are the best 2 win team in the NFL. Every game this season they could’ve won and have stayed close in games. Poor coaching has been their demise and why they couldn’t get past teams like Kansas City or Dallas. They now get a huge drop in team quality in Chicago which should give them a win to stay alive in the wild card race.

Winner: Los Angeles Chargers

Las Vegas Raiders at Detroit Lions

The Detroit Lions got a reality check last week against Baltimore and the Raiders couldn’t even beat the Bears who had to play an undrafted rookie at quarterback. The Lions are a much better team than their NFC North rival and get back on track to a surprising 6-2.

Winner: Detroit Lions
