2023 Fantasy Football Week 6: Start Em’ or Sit Em’ Quarterbacks – Is Joe Burrow Back?

Each week we’ll break down three players that should start in your fantasy lineup and three that would be better left on the bench per position. There are players like Patrick Mahomes & Josh Allen who are matchup proof and should be in your starting lineups every week barring a major circumstance.

Quarterbacks to Start:

Justin Fields

After a sluggish start to the season, Justin Fields and the Bears offense have come alive these past 2 weeks. Fields is a start while this offense is still hot. 

Kirk Cousins

Justin Jefferson might be out but Kirk Cousins is playing one of the worst pass defenses in the NFL in Chicago, so he should still play well. We’re expecting Cousins to still manage a multi touchdown game even if the Vikings lose. 

Joe Burrow

Joe Sheisty is back. It might have been against Arizona, but this was the most in control Burrow and the Bengals offense have looked this season. Burrow looked comfortable and even if they have a tough matchup against Seattle, he appears back to being the quarterback we’ve been accustomed to seeing. 

Quarterbacks to Sit:

Jared Goff 

Goff has been on a roll this season but the Lions get a tough test against a solid Tampa Bay defense. This game is similar to the Seahawks game where Goff struggled. This is going to yield similar results to that and Goff is going to be in some trouble. 

Deshaun Watson

Face the facts, Deshaun Watson is not a good quarterback. He’s also going up against a niners team that has shut down almost everyone they play. The Niners defense will manhandle Watson and the Browns. 

Lamar Jackson

Do we expect Lamar Jackson to still finish as a top 15 quarterback this week, yes. Do we expect Lamar to drop 25 points like he normally does, no. Lamar faces a Titans rush defense that can hold their own. So he’s not going to be able to move the ball on the ground as much and his receivers keep dropping deep balls, limiting his potential to rack up yards. Lamar is a start if you don’t have a better option, but if you have someone like Brock Purdy, Trevor Lawrence or Kirk Cousins available or on your bench, we’d turn to them.
