Each week we’ll break down one player that should start in your fantasy lineup and one that would be better left on the bench per position. There are players like Travis Kelce and Mark Andrews who are matchup proof and should be in your starting lineups every week barring a major circumstance.
Tight Ends to Start:
Gerald Everett
With Mike Williams out for the year, this should increase the role of Gerald Everett. We don’t expect him to be at that level he was last year, but should improve upon his performance thus far this year.
Tyler Higbee
The Rams offense is starting to come alive and one player we’ve been waiting for their game to go off is Tyler Higbee. He’s been rather quiet this year but we have high hopes for him against the Colts.
Pat Freiermuth
The Texans defense is rather weak and has allowed an average of over 10 fantasy points per game to tight ends. With how weak the tight end position is in fantasy outside of Kelce, this makes Freiermuth a start if you have him.
Tight Ends to Sit:
David Njoku
Njoku has been rather disappointing this year and the Browns haven’t made a point to try to include him more. Njoku is better off dropping and picking up someone who is more of a focus in their offense.
Kyle Pitts
It’s not a matchup problem, but rather the Falcons just aren’t good and Pitts was over hyped. He had a good career in college but that hasn’t translated to the pros. Pitts isn’t worth starting in fantasy leagues.
Chigoziem Okonkwo
Okonkwo is a boom or bust tight end and this weekend it should be a bust. We’re expecting a heavy workload from Derrick Henry and less pass attempts from Tannehill. This will be a close game and Okonkwo is a touchdown dependent option.
