2023 Fantasy Football Week 4: Start Em’ or Sit Em’ Quarterbacks – Can We Trust Joe Burrow Yet?

Each week we’ll break down three players that should start in your fantasy lineup and three that would be better left on the bench per position. There are players like Patrick Mahomes & Josh Allen who are matchup proof and should be in your starting lineups every week barring a major circumstance.

Quarterbacks to Start:

Russell Wilson

Despite the beatdown against Miami, Russell Wilson from a fantasy perspective didn’t play too bad. He was in the upper tier of quarterbacks in passing yards this past weekend and should be the same this weekend going up against the Bears. This whole game is going to be a joke but Russell Wilson will at least benefit from how poor the Bears defense is.

Brock Purdy

Purdy has quietly been having a solid season for the 49ers as they are off to a 3-0 start and should continue on their way to 4-0. Purdy’s play has been a big help and he’s been spreading the ball all across the offense. We like Purdy to be worth the start with Aiyuk back in the mix as he should get his groove back with his favorite target.

Kirk Cousins

Through 3 weeks, Kirk Cousins has been a top 5 fantasy quarterback despite the team’s 0-3 record. This offense is a pass heavy offense where Cousins should continue to see 300+ yard games on a consistent basis. Against the 0-3 Panthers, Cousins is set for another game of that stature.

Quarterbacks to Sit:

Joe Burrow

The Titans might have lost 27-3 against the Browns, but it was the Browns defense that showed up to play giving the offense some easy scoring opportunities. The Bengals defense hasn’t been as solidified this year as the Browns which won’t help Burrow and the rest of the offense. Burrow already has been a bottom 10 quarterback in QBR this year and his calf injury continues to hurt his potential.

Deshaun Watson

Watson might have benefited from a weak Titans secondary but the Browns get a much tougher test against division rival Baltimore who is notorious for having tough defenses. Watson is going to look like the quarterback that we saw in weeks 1 and 2 who looked like they had no idea what they were doing.

Dak Prescott

The Cowboys passing game has been fairly disappointing this year. In the first two weeks of the season, they weren’t needed as the defense put them up big. But last week, when it mattered most, they choked in the 4th quarter and couldn’t find the end zone. Dak Prescott is a fade on our list until we start seeing improvement from him and the receivers.
