Through 3 weeks, there are only 3 teams that remain undefeated. Will one of the 3 fall in week 4? We’ll be breaking down their matchups along with all NFL games slated for this weekend. Through 3 weeks, we’re 31-17 on our picks.
Detroit Lions at Green Bay Packers
In a NFC North showdown for first place in the division, the Lions and Packers both enter Thursday Night Football at 2-1. Both teams need this win to prove something to themselves. The Lions that they are the best team in the division now and the Packers to prove that they can make it without Rodgers. It’s going to be a close game that will come down to who wants it more and that’s Dan Campbell’s Detroit Lions.
Winner: Detroit Lions
Atlanta Falcons at Jacksonville Jaguars
The first international game of the season is here and of course it features two teams that nobody really wants to watch play. The Jaguars have been accustomed to London games but their win record across the pond doesn’t prove it. We think the Jaguars will bring their record in London games to an even 5-5 with a win against Atlanta.
Winner: Jacksonville Jaguars
Miami Dolphins at Buffalo Bills
It’s hard to bet against a team that just dropped 70 points, but the Dolphins get their toughest matchup of the season against the Buffalo Bills in Buffalo. The Dolphins had the offensive performance of a lifetime and that was without Jaylen Waddle. The Bills offensive performance in week 3 was overshadowed by the Dolphins performance. This is going to be a high scoring affair and we’re giving the edge to the Buffalo Bills who the Dolphins haven’t been able to stop in Buffalo.
Winner: Buffalo Bills
Denver Broncos at Chicago Bears
In a battle of teams that got their butts absolutely destroyed last weekend, nobody is going to want to watch this game. Neither team has an offense or a defense. If we have to side with one team to avoid embarrassing themselves two weeks in a row, it’s neither, both will, but the Broncos will embarrass themselves slightly less in week 4.
Winner: Denver Broncos
Baltimore Ravens at Cleveland Browns
The Ravens fell apart last week to the Indianapolis Colts at home and the Browns pulled off a dominant 27-3 win over the Tennessee Titans. We’re riding with the hot hand in Cleveland who should improve to 3-1 and in command of the AFC North.
Winner: Cleveland Browns
Cincinnati Bengals at Tennessee Titans
The Bengals finally got one in the win column to avoid starting off the season 0-3. Joe Burrow played through the calf injury and put up his best game yet with over 250 yards. This still isn’t what we’re used to seeing from him and it could only go up from here. His first matchup coming off a victory is against a Titans defense that just made Deshaun Watson look like an actually good quarterback. Joe Burrow with the calf injury should come out on top and get the Bengals to .500.
Winner: Tennessee Titans
Los Angeles Rams at Indianapolis Colts
The Rams and Colts are two teams that have offenses that have been playing better than expectations. The Rams have a rising star in rookie Puka Nacua and the Colts have seen success with both Richardson & Minshew playing at quarterback. Richardson might be back for this week, but even if he is back, we’re giving the edge to the Rams as we’ve liked what we’ve seen from their offense better.
Winner: Los Angeles Rams
Tampa Bay Buccaneers at New Orleans Saints
The Derek Carr injury is going to hurt the New Orleans Saints and they are going to need to prepare for the near future without him. This is a big blow as they finally started to look like they were building chemistry together. The Saints are going to need to turn Jameis Winston and we know he’s struggled against the Tampa Bay defense over the years.
Winner: Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Washington Commanders at Philadelphia Eagles
Don’t let Washington’s 2-1 record fool you. They are not a good team and shouldn’t be treated as one. They are going to be demolished against the undefeated Philadelphia Eagles.
Winner: Philadelphia Eagles
Minnesota Vikings at Carolina Panthers
One team is surprisingly 0-3 and one team was an expected 0-3. If the Vikings fall to 0-4. Is it time to look at trading Kirk Cousins? Fortunately, that won’t be the case as they will get their first win against a weak Panthers team and Cousins gets a little bit more job security back.
Winner: Minnesota Vikings
Pittsburgh Steelers at Houston Texans
Both the Pittsburgh Steelers and Houston Texans pulled off big road wins in week 3. The Steelers held off the Raiders in Sunday Night Football and the Texans blew the Jaguars out of the water. Both teams have struggled to run the ball and defenses aren’t playing very well. This is a game that could see a lot of points put up if both pass defense struggles continue. We think the pass rush on the Steelers is going to give CJ Stroud a difficult time and help the Steelers pull off the win.
Winner: Pittsburgh Steelers
Las Vegas Raiders at Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers finally won a close game without choking while the Raiders didn’t have the same luck and blew it against the Steelers. We’re predicting the same outcome in week 4 with another close game where Chargers pull it out twice in a row and Raiders choke once again.
Winner: Los Angeles Chargers
New England Patriots at Dallas Cowboys
Two teams that have top-tier defenses are the Patriots and the Cowboys. Both Dak Prescott and Mac Jones have been underwhelming this year and have struggled on 3rd downs. This is going to be a gritty matchup that’ll be determined by which defense makes bigger plays. We think even without Trevon Diggs that the Cowboys can pull it off.
Winner: Dallas Cowboys
Arizona Cardinals at San Francisco 49ers
The Cardinals pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the year over the Dallas Cowboys. The Cardinals also stuck around in their previous two matchups before losing in the final minutes. We think the Cardinals will cover the spread here and make it another close matchup but ultimately fall to the superior 49ers.
Winner: San Francisco 49ers
Kansas City Chiefs at New York Jets
Another primetime matchup this season that has been ruined by the Aaron Rodgers injury is the Chiefs at Jets on Sunday Night Football. Without Rodgers, the Jets have been able to do nothing, yet Saleh still is confident in Zach Wilson. Unlike Saleh, we are not and the Chiefs are going to roll over the Jets.
Winner: Kansas City Chiefs
Seattle Seahawks at New York Giants
The Giants have been one of our biggest disappointments this year as we thought they could compete for the NFC East title this year. That is not the case. The Seahawks don’t look as good as they were last year but they’re good enough to get past the Giants.
