2023 NFL Week 3 Predictions

Through 2 weeks of the season, we’ve seen more injuries than we can remember. It’s been a tough season for a lot of teams with some hard losses already, while some teams have been fortunate to go unscathed thus far. Week 3 could pose a problem as there’s battles of undefeated teams and a battle of winless teams. We’ll be breaking down all the matchups and through 2 weeks, we are 20-12.

New York Giants at San Francisco 49ers

The Giants needed a 20+ point comeback to defeat the Arizona Cardinals. A team that struggled to survive them is going to get torn apart by a powerhouse like the San Francisco 49ers.

Winner: San Francisco 49ers

Tennessee Titans at Cleveland Browns

In one of the few tossup matches of the week, the Titans and Browns square off in the early slot on Sunday. The Browns enter without Nick Chubb which could pose a problem against the Titans tough run defense. The Titans pass defense is a weak spot but Watson is a joke of a quarterback. The Titans defense prevails in a matchup that will be a low scoring affair.

Winner: Tennessee Titans

Atlanta Falcons at Detroit Lions

The Lions pulled off a big win in week 1 over the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs which many are calling a fluke. The Falcons are 2-0 in two wins that can also be called flukes. This game features two rookie running backs and should be entertaining to watch. We’re giving the edge to the Lions offense as Goff’s experience is what brings home the win.

Winner: Detroit Lions

New Orleans Saints at Green Bay Packers

The New Orleans Saints are entering this matchup without a loss, while the Packers choked against the Falcons. The Packers offense was surprisingly playing well with Jordan Love having been one of the top quarterbacks this year. Derek Carr hasn’t been as great as we thought he was going to be in New Orleans. This should be a close game, but we’re going to go with Jordan Love getting his first win at Lambeau Field.

Winner: Green Bay Packers

Denver Broncos at Miami Dolphins

Tua and the Dolphins offense have been grooving this year. They’ve also been using the run more and Mostert’s been doing well in the lead back role. The Dolphins defense also did well in bringing pressure on quarterback Mac Jones. They now get a matchup against a Russell Wilson led Broncos offense that struggles under pressure. The Dolphins defense gets a good confidence boost after this game before they take on Josh Allen.

Winner: Miami Dolphins

Los Angeles Chargers at Minnesota Vikings

One of these two teams is going to come out of this game at 0-3. It doesn’t feel like either of them should be but the Chargers continue to collapse in late game scenarios and the Vikings defense has been vulnerable costing them both their losses. This is going to be one of the highest scoring games of the week as both defenses aren’t going to be able to do anything against the fire power offenses. The Vikings have more success in late game scenarios to give them a slight edge on the Chargers. This game should put Brandon Staley on the hot seat as they’re easily a playoff team with better coaching.

Winner: Minnesota Vikings

New England Patriots at New York Jets

If Aaron Rodgers was in this game, it’d be a much different story. Without Rodgers in the game, the Jets offense looked like the Jets offense we’ve been accustomed to. Zach Wilson looked like someone who shouldn’t be a starting quarterback in the NFL. With Wilson as the starter, if they play a team with a strong pass defense like the Patriots, they’re bound to lose.

Winner: New England Patriots

Buffalo Bills at Washington Commanders

The worst 2-0 team in the NFL is the Washington Commanders. They barely have survived the Arizona Cardinals and the Denver Broncos. Facing a real team like the Buffalo Bills is going to give them a nice reality check.

Winner: Buffalo Bills

Houston Texans at Jacksonville Jaguars

A team that the Jacksonville Jaguars always seem to struggle against is the Houston Texans. We think this year they’ll finally be able to beat their demons and get past them as they are a more complete team than past seasons.

Winner: Jacksonville Jaguars

Indianapolis Colts at Baltimore Ravens

The Colts may have had a more dominant win in week two but it was against the lowly Texans. Meanwhile the Ravens went into Cincinnati and beat their division rival. Baltimore is looking like the favorite to win the AFC North and a 3-0 start will continue to separate themselves from the rest of the pack.

Winner: Baltimore Ravens

Carolina Panthers at Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks big win against Detroit last week has them feeling pretty comfortable with a weak Panthers offense coming to town. Bryce Young’s size is going to be helpful for the Seahawks defense to shut them down.

Winner: Seattle Seahawks

Chicago Bears at Kansas City Chiefs

The Bears offense hasn’t looked good and Justin Fields blames the coaching. That couldn’t be the issue for Mahomes who has a strong bond with Andy Reid and is the reason they’re coming off a Super Bowl victory. The Bears offensive line hasn’t been any help for Justin Fields and now they face a top defensive lineman in Chris Jones. It’s going to be a long day for Justin Fields and we’re hoping he can avoid an injury in what’s set to be a bloodbath.

Winner: Kansas City Chiefs

Dallas Cowboys at Arizona Cardinals

Micah Parsons is making a case for not just Defensive Player of the Year but MVP as well. His presence has been a difference maker for the Cowboys and it feels like every play he contributes something to it. The Cardinals don’t know what they’re in for and this game is going to be one to forget.

Winner: Dallas Cowboys

Pittsburgh Steelers at Las Vegas Raiders

This is a game of mediocre quarterbacks who are going to turn the ball over. This is another primetime game where we wished it was better teams playing. It’ll be a defensive game and the better defense is the one featuring defensive player of the year TJ Watt.

Winner: Pittsburgh Steelers

Philadelphia Eagles at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

In a battle of the undefeated teams, the Philadelphia Eagles who’s offense has been a bit sluggish this year faces a Buccaneers who have been surprisingly doing well on offense with Baker Mayfield under center. Mayfield was a good fit for the Buccaneers offense and will keep the Buccaneers in this game. This game is going to be close but we’re going with the Eagles who have more weapons on the offense to rely on, while the Buccaneers haven’t gotten much going in the run game.

Winner: Philadelphia Eagles

Los Angeles Rams at Cincinnati Bengals

At the time we are writing this, Joe Burrow’s status is up in the air. In the event he plays, we think Burrow can do enough to get revenge on the team he lost to in the Super Bowl. If Burrow is out, Jake Browning who’s never played in a game will start. It won’t be pretty for them. Odds are Burrow will play which our initial pick will then be the Bengals but subject to change based on his availability.

Winner: Cincinnati Bengals
