Each week we’ll break down one player that should start in your fantasy lineup and one that would be better left on the bench per position. There are players like Justin Jefferson and Tyreek Hill who are matchup proof and should be in your starting lineups every week barring a major circumstance.
Wide Receivers to Start:
Tee Higgins
After dropping a goose egg in week 1, it’s only up from here for Tee Higgins and the rest of the Bengals offense. The Bengals offense struggled in week 1 and that was a fluke. Burrow should bounce back with a big game against a divisional rival with Ja’Marr Chase & Tee Higgins getting a lot more targets thrown their way.
Nico Collins
The Texans and Colts will face in a battle to stay out of last place in the AFC. Neither team can run the ball, so this is going to be a matchup of rookie quarterbacks. A wide receiver that should see an increase in targets is Nico Collins. He’s our sleeper wide receiver of the week.
Zay Flowers
With Mark Andrews out, rookie Zay Flowers took over as the lead receiver for the Baltimore Ravens. Mark Andrews status is up in the air and if he does play, he’ll be a bit banged up. Zay Flowers should continue as the #1 receiver in Baltimore and should fare well in what’s set to be a high scoring affair against the Bengals.
Wide Receivers to Sit:
Drake London
Another receiver that had an unexpected goose egg last week was Drake London. Unlike Tee Higgins, the Falcons offensive performance was not a fluke. The Desmond Ridder led offense is a fragment of what the Bengals offense can do. With London only getting a single target last week, we’re not trusting him unfortunately despite how talented he may be.
Garrett Wilson
After Rodgers went down, the opportunity for Garrett Wilson to succeed went downhill. We saw how Garrett Wilson did with Zach Wilson as his quarterback last season and it wasn’t great. As long as Zach Wilson is in the driver’s seat, we don’t trust Garrett Wilson to be a starting wide receiver. He’s a flex option at best right now unless Zach Wilson has completely turned things around overnight.
Terry McLaurin
The Washington Commanders offense did a poor job against the Cardinals as Sam Howell disappointed. Howell’s favorite target was Dotson and even then Dotson didn’t have the best performance. Terry McLaurin is still the best receiver on the team and he’ll get the best defensive back in Patrick Surtain on the Denver Broncos covering him this weekend. With a lackluster job from Sam Howell and Surtain being his cover, McLaurin would be better left on the bench.
